Hello! I’m MyKenzie (Pristine)! I’m 24 years old and I’ve been making art and music my whole life but I had the opportunity to take my art skills to a whole new level when I was taught how to blow glass. I met Travis Safaro (SafaroArts) at the end of 2017 and we instantly fell in love <3 He had already been blowing glass and live painting for events and making a lot of other types of art for a couple years before we met. He started showing me and teaching me everything he knew and we started working together as a team while still getting to build ourselves and figure out our own art styles and unique skills to each other as we go! We love to collaborate with each other and it wouldn’t be the same if I wasn’t making art right by his side!
Each art piece I make I try and make it one-of-a-kind! I chose the name Pristine glass because I used to go by the name Pristina which means original in Latin, I felt like I was different than most other people and I enjoyed things that aren’t the same as what everyone else has. I love to make custom work and I do have some styles that I like to make a bunch of, but I really try and focus on making each and every pendant or art piece unique to the past ones I’ve made! I also make it a goal of mine to be very interactive as an artist. I love to do live feeds and I love to talk to the people supporting my art and bring out their creativity by letting them have input on what I’m making or let them decide which direction the piece goes. I like to use the energy around me and focus it into each art piece. I am so thankful that I get to wake up and do what I love each day, if I’m not working on glass at home with my animals, I’m at a festival vending my art or live painting! We travel to about 15 events per year but are mainly based out of Michigan.
I hope to continue my art journey with open eyes and ears to learn new skills I can add to what I can do behind my torch or canvas. I’m always trying to push my creativity to make new things for you guys to see! I like to make a variety of things so I can have something for everyone!! When I’m making art I always like to have a story or a meaning behind making the piece. Each piece of art I make is like a little piece of myself. I like to think that each piece of art has a tiny bit of my energy that I get to spread into peoples lives; Whether I’m happy or having a rough time in life, my art is my save haven and I feel so grateful when someone gets my art and gets to appreciate it, it feels like they’re appreciating me and my time. Nothing can make someone feel more loved than that! <3 I appreciate each and every one of you and I hope that if you see my smiling face at an event that you feel more than welcome to come up and say hello!! I cant thank you enough for your support!! I plan to make lots of new art this coming year!!!
